Samsung Devices running ActivateX: Knox License Update for Tablets Expires 8/19/23
This announcement is to inform you that all versions of the Activate X (POS) running on Samsung tablets require an updated build to receive a Knox license update that expires on 8/19/23. This is a security patch for any users on Samsung devices. This re-certifies our usage of Samsung Knox Security ensuring secure communication between the application and payment devices allowing the device to automatically accept connection links with USB peripherals. .
If the update is not installed, devices may constantly ask for access to the USB port upon connection changes that may impact operability.
How do I get my devices updated?
Please reach out to your Client Success Manager or Support team to coordinate the version best fit for your operations and instructions on how to update can be found in our Knowledge Base HERE.
What will be seen until I receive the updated builds?
Users will see a pop up box that will ask the user to accept a USB access acceptance upon reboot/login or any time there is a new usb connection starting 8/19/23. Users will need to accept the pop up request by checking the box and selecting OK. If not accepted the payment device will not function and further steps to connect will be required by contacting support.
Selecting the check box AND selecting OK is required when this is prompted.
