Release Date: 27 July 2023
Release Version: InteractX_2.5.3
Content: Bugfixes
Compatibility:
ActivateX - 16.5.0
Check Sync - 1.2.1.1
Connect - 12.4
KDSX - 5.12.1
KDS (iOS) - 4.11.0
The primary purpose of this release is to add critical bug fixes for this release (after InteractX 2.5.0). It adds to the goals of IX 2.5.0, which were to add a new feature (Vouchers Webview Modal, developed for OTG). This release also adds IX support to the new Reset Order Data function for KDS Android & Check Sync).
Feature updates:
Vouchers Webview Modal - IX now supports launching a customizable Webview Modal to collect payment using vouchers that leverage credit networks for processing.
This was originally a request from a specific customer (OTG-063). Still, this feature can be used by any kiosk guest wanting to redeem value off a co-branded voucher and potentially use a credit card to pay the order balance.
This feature can be enabled in Connect at Terminal Roles > Payments > Credit > Enable Manual Entry as Separate Tender.
Once this setting is enabled, the Kiosk Theme module is expanded to offer an additional section - Manual Entry Guest Hint Screen. This allows for the usual Themes configuration. This feature also includes a new Manual Entry Hint Screen Timeout - this flag is on the Settings tab.
Enabling this feature adds a new Voucher button to the Payment Selection screen. The Vouchers screen offers a few pre-defined amounts (based on the most popular voucher amounts) and an Exact button. Guests can also enter a desired amount manually.
IX prevents the user from selecting/entering amounts higher than the balance due.
With this change, IX guests can now pay with the following:
1 Voucher and 1 Gift Card
1 Voucher and 1 Credit Card
1 Gift Card and 1 Credit Card
Multiple Vouchers + 1 Credit Card
Multiple Vouchers + Multiple Gift Cards
1 or more vouchers + Glory Cash
1 or more vouchers + custom tenders + credit card
Multiple credit cards are not supported in this first release.
When paying with Voucher, the guest has to scan the Voucher in IX OR manually enter the voucher details on the payment device (not on the Kiosk).
IX now supports longer timeouts when waiting for the customer to enter the Voucher details onto the payment device.
Our default timeout for electronic payments set in the app is 25 seconds (same as ActivateX).
In addition to that, customers can set the additional Payment Timeout (Connect > Gateway Credentials). Today this setting supports up to 35 seconds (for a total of 60 seconds).
When Connect 12.8 is released, the maximum duration set at Payment Timeout will increase to 215 seconds (for a total of 240 seconds).
Setting the Gateway Timeout to a greater time than the Manual Entry Hint Screen Timeout is recommended.
Reset Order Data (KDS Android & Check Sync) - this release supports this new feature.
It was developed to help support and implementation staff in restoring the operation of a location by immediately removing all orders from all of the local apps (ActivateX, InteractX, KDS Android, and Check Sync). It is controlled by a new button on the Check Sync Server screen - see KDSX 5.12 Release notes for more information.
