Product Update: End of life of Elo v1 devices after Jan 31, 2024

SpotOn has supported the Elo v1 devices with Android 4.4 since its deployment in 2016. As part of our mission to deliver exceptional customer experiences, we make every attempt to balance the longevity of hardware with changing technology and security needs of our product.

Elo discontinued support for their v1 device in December 2020. In combination with the industry moving towards deprecating TLS 1.0 and 1.1, which impacts older devices with OS versions below Android 5.0, we have decided to discontinue support for Elo v1 hardware by Jan 31, 2024. As our partners begin to remove support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1, SpotOn cannot guarantee point-of-sale client applications and/or payments will continue to function on Elo V1 devices, so we encourage you to make plans to replace these devices as soon as possible.

We understand that the longevity of hardware is important to your operations and budget, and we are dedicated to supporting you through this transition:

• SpotOn will release the final Activate build 15.13.5.2 to support Elo v1 devices.

• SpotOn is in a position to offer replacement hardware at a discounted price point.
