Content: Various enhancements and bug fixes
These are Pre-Release notes with the anticipated contents of a release scheduled for October 17, 2024. There is potential for changes in the scope and timing of the release. We will send final release notes upon completion of the release.
Feature Updates:
The E700 can now be configured to prompt for tips on the Q20 card reader instead of on the E700 screen
Note: This functionality requires minimum POS Web version 2.40.19-qs and must be enabled by VN. Please contact VN Support or your Account Manager to enable this functionality
Once the feature has been enabled, you can now configure your E700s for tipping on the Q20 with the following steps:
Login on the E700
Tap the hamburger button in the top left corner
Select Configuration > Back > Select Device Type “Customer Facing Display POS” > Next > Complete device configuration
Added support for authorization slip printing when using Back Bar tabs (requires minimum POS Web version 2.40.19-qs)
Offline orders will now be updated to the correct state more reliably following a sync (requires minimum POS Web version 2.40.19-qs)
There will now be more clear messaging and a Retry option when trying to launch the POS app on a device that is offline
There is now extra padding at the top of the kitchen chit to prevent hiding content when hanging in an expo rail
Mastercard animation can now be enabled dynamically on native Android card readers instead of requiring a new APK build. Please contact VN Support or your Account Manager to enable this functionality on your devices
Improved readability of kitchen chits and printed receipts
The Android status bar will now always be visible on A3700s
Bug Fixes:
Fixed an issue where the app would sometimes launch into the “offline” screen despite the device being online
Mitigated an issue where the POS app would sometimes get stuck on an endless spinner when initiating the card reader
Fixed an issue where the POS could never switch to a cloud receipt printer if it ever had a Star USB printer attached
Fixed an issue where there was not enough padding at the bottom of the printed receipt
