Released On: 16 April 2025
Release Version: 25.0.1
Release Type: General
Content: New features and bug fixes
Feature Updates: POS
NEW - Advanced KDS - Automated Coursing
Coming with this release is a powerful new feature to handle automated coursing with your KDS. With this enhancement you will now have a number of ways to automate the coursing of meals:
First, you can automate the coursing with a custom fixed course time so that all apps take 10 minutes and after 10 minutes all mains will fire as an example.
Next, you could apply the previous course completion option which would automatically fire the main courses after all apps have been completed
Last, you could apply a combination of the first two options so that mains fire after apps + a set amount of time.
In addition, if you are using commands, we have incorporated commands into the coursing as well, so if you were looking for a manual option you could you could fire the next course on command. If you would be interested in using this feature, reach out to your Implementation Specialist for for more details.
NEW - Advanced KDS - New option to increase Order Header font size on KDS Prep screens
To help ensure staff can clearly see the order type for items showing up on KDS Prep screens we have added an option to configure the font size for the header. This setting can be set from the Advanced KDS settings in portal.
NEW - Skinnable Order Status screen
If you are using our existing order status screen or have been thinking about adding one to let customers know which orders are in progress and which are ready for pickup, we now offer an option to skin the screen as you would like! If this is something you would be interested in knowing more about, speak to your sales rep for more details.
NEW - Kiosk - Brazil - Currency now noted as R$ if the user switches the kiosk language to English
By default, the language for kiosks in Brazil will be Portuguese, but they do have multi-language support. To help keep things consistent, we have made an update so that if a customer switches the language to English how the currency displays will remain the same as R$ along with the currency format.
Feature Updates: Online Ordering
NEW - Data layer improvements
We have made some additional improvements to the data layer on online ordering sites to help with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager tracking. If you would like to apply a Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager pixel to your site, speak with your Client Relations Rep or Implementations Specialist to start the process.
Feature Updates: Integrations
NEW - Integration to OneCard (Touchnet)
OneCard is a solution used in many Colleges and Universities for not just identification on campus but is also tied into meal programs students may purchase. GivexPOS is now integrated to OneCard for meal purchases a student may make on campus. If you would be interested in using or knowing more about this integration, speak to your Client Relations Rep or Implementation Specialist for more details.
NEW - SkipTheDishes - Use custom fields for Calories and Servings
We have made a change to the Skip integration so that if you would like to pass on Calorie or Servings details to Skip you can now do so via custom fields rather than the existing Calorie Count and Guest Equivalency fields. This will allow you to continue to use a range for a calorie count and zero for guest equivalency where needed. If you have any questions about using custom fields, speak with your Implementation Specialist to help out.
NEW - Increased timeout on PMS Posting
To help minimize the chances for duplication of PMS postings, we have added a configurable option to adjust the timeout for connect and receive attempts. Going forward you will now be able to choose the timeout time to be between 1 and 240 seconds.
NEW - Australia - VPOS EC410 Cash Drawer
GivexPOS is now integrated with the VPOS EC410 Cash Drawer for workstations. If you would like to use this cash drawer, reach out to your Implementation Specialist for assistance is setting up.
Bug Fixes: POS
Tablet crashing when applying a tax exemption when items have been removed
It was found that if an order was placed and a tax exemption was applied to the order, then the item is removed from the order that if a manager tried to approve the tax exemption the tablet would crash. This has been fixed.
Operator Audit report showing wrong approver for discounts
It was found that if one operator opened an order and another operator went to this same order and applied/approved the discount that the operator who opened the order would be considered the operator who approved the discount. This has been fixed.
Refunds getting pushed to KDS
If you are using a specific dynamic ordering set up along with KDS it was found that in some instances a refund transaction would get pushed to the KDS. This has been fixed so no refund transactions will be pushed to KDS going forward.
Fully paid 3rd party online orders with service charge not getting closed
It was found that if online orders were being placed via a 3rd party and a service charge was being passed that the order would not autoclose in some instances. This has been fixed.
POS Sales Mix report duplicating department if multiple languages are used
It was found on the POS Sales Mix report that if you were using multiple languages you would see the department name listed in each language in the filter. This has been fixed.
Bug Fixes: Online Ordering
Unable to check out an item if the add-on group has less add-ons than the minimum quantity required to be selected in the add-on group
There was an issue found where if you had an add-on group with say 3 add-ons but required a minimum quantity of 4 to be selected that you would not be able to order the item, even with add-on quantities enabled. This has been fixed.
Bug Fixes: Integrations
UberDirect - Timing of automatic orders now configurable
For merchants using the new UberDirect Delivery Quoting module with the CWS 5 Consumer app, it was found when delivery orders were placed that if an order was placed for 'ASAP' that this would lead to the driver being requested immediately even if the ASAP time was set to a larger value ex 45 minutes. To help with this we have added a new Online Order setting - 'Average Delivery Time Duration' as a way to control when the driver will be automatically booked. Going forward we will now look at this setting for when to book the driver so in the example of the below image, if the delivery time interval was set to 45 minutes and the average delivery duration was set to 30 minutes, we would call to book the driver after 15 minutes of the order being placed.
UberDirect - Customer receiving driver notification after a failed payment attempt
It was found that when using the updated UberDirect integration that if a payment attempt of an online order failed that the customer would still receive notification that a driver has been assigned to their order. This has been fixed.
Syspro - Shipping notice script crashing when fields have a null entry
It was found that if a file being used in the Syspro integration had a blank cell that the script would crash and the results of the script would not be emailed out. This has been fixed.
Ritual - Orders timing out in some instances
There was an issue found in a specific instance where an order was received in one datacenter and had to be redirected to another that it could lead to a timeout of the order attempt. This has been fixed.
DoorDash - Price list mapping improvements
We found that in some instances where clients are using separate pricing and/or menus for delivery v pickup in DoorDash that it could lead to issues with uploading the menu. We have made some under the hood improvements to help improve this process and ensure the uploads are successful.
