September Release Notes
On September 10, 2025, the following new features and enhancements will be available on the Givex Portal. They will be available on GivexPOS on September 11, 2025. We recommend speaking with your Implementation Specialist before making any changes on the day of the release. Please refer to Givex’s release notes for more details.

Feature Updates: POS
NEW - Loyalty - Spend limit per transaction
If you are using Loyalty with GivexPOS, we have added a new feature that will allow you to limit how much is paid by credit on a loyalty account as a percentage of the order. This should help clients keeping an eye on the bottom line of their loyalty program to ensure it is not having a negative effect on margins.
NEW - Quebec - Updates to Web SRM
With the recent conversion to using Web SRM in Quebec now in effect, as we see more stores adopting this we have made a number of updates to improve the order process and ensure that there is sufficient notification for any issues that pop up. With this in mind, we have made the following updates:
Stores will now be warned when Web SRM is enabled on Givex but no certificate has been added or if the end of life SRM printer is still connected. These stores will get a notification each time an operator logs in that Web SRM is not set up and they should convert.
With the previous SRM configuration, we needed to prevent portal users from creating sections due to the possible print routing implications of bypassing the SRM. With Web SRM, this is not an issue so if you are using Web SRM you will now be able to create new sections in portal if needed.
As part of the SRM configuration, there is an Operator Option where they can select 'Failure to Pay' in instances where an order needs to be closed without applying payment without voiding the order. We have made a change to this setting so that when it is selected it will now require manager approval. In addition, in the operator cash out reports, it will note how many times this setting has been used for tracking purposes.
NEW - Option to tip on subtotal on PATT devices
Recently the government of Quebec mandated that restaurants will need to ensure that default tip values are based off the subtotal of the order as opposed to the total payment. We have accommodated this new law and it is available for all to use in any province. If this is something you would like to enable, speak to your Implementation Specialist for more details.
NEW - Account Management - Improved templates for Email Statements and Invoices
To better outline what amount a customer may owe that settles their account at a specific period, we have updated the Email Statement and Invoice templates so that they now have the option to see each bill and the items ordered. For assistance with setting this up, speak to your Implementation Specialist.
NEW - Brazil - PIX payment method added as an option for Givex Kiosks
Given the popularity of PIX payments in Brazil, we have added this an option for payment from the kiosk.
Bug Fixes: POS
Newer tablet models unable to display the Transaction Analysis report
There was an issue found on new tablet models that when selecting the Transaction Analysis report that you would get a message 'webpage not available'. There was an HTML issue discovered and this has been fixed.
Unable to assign multiple stores to promotion
There was an issue found when creating promotions that you would get an error when trying to assign more than one store to the promotion. This has been fixed.
PDF reports overlapping totals if they are very large
It was found that large totals or longer names in pdf files could overlap in some instances and this was due to an issue found in the conversion of a report to pdf. We have resolved the issue.
Auto End of Day failure with Web SRM and blank open orders
It was found that if you are using Web SRM and left blank open orders open that the auto eod would fail to process. This has been fixed.
Subtotal displaying incorrectly on PATT payments after partial gift payment while using Web SRM
It was found that if you were using Web SRM and then partially paid an order by gift card that the subtotal remaining on a Move 5000 device would display an incorrect total. This has been fixed.
GivexGo icons at bottom of screen unable to be used on newer Android devices
There was an issue found with GivexGo for Android users with newer model devices where the GivexGo icons at the bottom would nest underneath the phone options to go back and minimize. This has been fixed.
KDS Item images not displaying on Elo tablets
There was an issue found where KDS item images would not display on Elo tablets. Other tablets were not affected. This has been fixed.
Reward discount applying more than its value in specific instances
There was an edge case found where if you applied a reward at the beginning of the order and then entered several items afterwards that the discount amount could get changed depending on the price of the items ordered because of an issue with the refresh function of reward discounts. This has been fixed.
Order validation error when using Advanced KDS colour scheme settings + items with the same add-on in multiple add-on groups
It was found in this edge case that if you are using both Advanced KDS colour scheme settings and have items with the same add-on in multiple add-on groups that if you ordered multiple add-ons that you would get a validation error. This has been fixed.
Bug Fixes: OLO/Integrations
Failed Orders partially paid with gift not adding credit back to gift card
There was an issue found where if you partially paid for an order with a gift card and then tried to pay with a credit card and this failed and the order ended up not being completed that the gift card value redeemed would not be added back to the card. This has been fixed by moving to a pre/post auth process. NOTE: This does not apply to coupon redemption. Coupons do not use pre/post auth so if you are using 3DS2 and run into an error on the processor side, these values will not be added back and will need to be handled manually.
Coupon redemption note applying when using Apple/Google Pay
It was found that if you applied a coupon and then tried to pay with Apple or Google Pay that you would be charged for the full price of the order, ignoring the coupon value. This has been fixed.
Delivery address issues
There were a few issues found relating to delivery orders and the address entry. First, it was found that for Quebec locations, what was being passed in the province field was incorrect and as a result an error was being thrown and stopping the order from being completed. Next, for locations in Europe where a province isn't included in the address, these orders were unable to complete because we were expecting this detail. Both issues have been fixed.
Items in combos available on CWS 5 and 3rd party integrations when not in the active price list
It was found that if you are using combos on your CWS 5 site or a 3rd party integration that if you have specific items in the combo that are only available at certain stores and their respective price lists that the item would be available for all stores. This has been fixed.
